
NK Ensemble is a song based new music ensemble that aims to develop a unique repertoire and a research platform on the usage of particular Turkish Music traditional instruments and maqams. NK Ensemble has been initiated upon composer Onur Türkmen and kemençe player Nermin Kaygusuz’s collaboration since 2000.
The ensemble has published two albums so far. “Havuz” is published in 2023 by Gedik Sanat and “Lahza” is published in 2019 by Bilgi Music.

Limon Ağacı Premiere

Limon Ağacı (lemon tree), Onur Türkmen’s third ritualistic drama on “an unrelenting pain: compulsory exchange of populations”, commissioned by İstanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts, is premiered, on June 11th 2024, by NK ensemble at İstanbul International Music Festival
